About Jonno Cohen

I am a graphic designer and illustrator based in Johannesburg, South Africa. After failed experiments with careers in IT support and slacking off, I realised design was the best way for me to draw pictures and get paid for it. Three years later, degree in hand, I set out to learn my trade in the grownup world, at two small agencies where I conceptualised and delivered design work for brands including American Express, Nedbank, L’Oréal Professionel and BHP Billiton. Fast forward a little to 2007, when I founded my solo design practice, Kreativation.

I have a thing for colour, simplicity and cleverness. You can find me browsing/doodling/people-watching at the Seattle coffee shop in Hyde Park at least once a week, or running the streets of Joburg every chance I get. I accept design books as legal tender.

About Kreativation

Kreativation is my livelihood and my playground. In my studio I work, play, sketch and ponder. I design logos and identities, I co-ordinate marketing and branding efforts, and I illustrate posters and brochures and anything else I can convince you needs me to draw. In all my work, I aim for it to speak to my clients’ markets and stand out. But above all, it must look great doing so, because good design is good for business, and it’s more fun to produce too.
